Drenched

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God."
Mark 10:27
"Stand in the rain stand your ground. Stand up when it's all crashing down. Stand through the pain you won't drown. And one day what's lost can be found. So stand in the rain." -Stand in the Rain by Super Chic(k)

Today when I got home my sister asked me to follow her to the store in the rain. I was down. I've been wanting to walk in the pouring rain all summer. Anyway I was too late when I finally decided to leave the house it wasn't raining anymore. So when I got home I asked that God would allow it to pour.

Later on in the night a lot of stuff was going down. There was like world war III going down under my roof. I tried my best to stay out of the line of cross fire. I stayed calm cool and collected. I couldn't help feeling the anger that was raging between people. It left me feeling out of whack. So I sat and I prayed. I asked God to rain his holy spirit down on our lives. I prayed that he would pour out his peace and love on my family. I prayed that he would drench us.

A little while later my "sister" went outside to use her phone. She freaked out and said it was pouring! I was so excited. I said lets go outside!! They all followed suit. It was a bit discouraging because when we finally stepped onto the patio the rain died down. I just sang out. Open the flood gates of heaven let it rain. After this it started to pour.

We danced. We skipped. We shouted. We jumped in puddles. We spun around. We sang. We enjoyed being children. We laughed. And we almost got in trouble. Our neighbor came out with a flashlight to see what was going on and we bolted into the house. When we were safe we started to crack up and decided to go back again. To just enjoy every pelting rain drop that blessed us from above. The rain washed away all the tension and allowed us to get along. God answered my prayer. He drenched us with his peace and with his love.
