Dead Faith

James 2:14-17
Faith without Good Deeds Is Dead
14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? 17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

"It is not a song that replays over and over in my head. The words hold not a musical tune. They just hold a message to live by. Faith without works is dead."

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Yesterday in church I learned about faith. See faith is more than just knowing that God exists and believing that his son died for our sins. It needs to be shown by our actions. What is the point if I say I love Jesus or I believe in God if I do not model the principles of Christianity.

I must prove my faith by my actions. Today those words just replayed in my head. Faith without works is dead. Every time I would get lazy it would replay again. I must show the world who I live for. How? I must love with no conditions. I must bite my tongue. I must practice self control. I must forget and forgive. I must be kind to everyone especially the people hardest to get along with. I should find ways to help people in need. How do I help someone who is hungry with just words? If I have something to give I will give it away. Silent works I don't need any recognition. I hope to grow in faith not just by believing but by putting those beliefs into actions.

Galatians 5:6

What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
